1.) First of all you have to change the home screen theme of your android device by downloading the ThirdParty Launcher called ADW Launcher , this launcher is free in android market , you can also download its pro version and it is not free but to download this app for free you have read this artile " How To Download Paid Android App For Free "
2.) Second thing you have to do is to place less number of icons on your home page and remove all the widgetsv, animations and not to use live wallpapers as they also consume your battery

3.) Third Thing you have to do is to turn off ' Enable plug-ins ' . First go to the browse > then settings > advanced settings > then 'Enable plug-ins' and turn it off
4.) Download some apps 1. Advansed Task Killer 2.
